I can't remember a new grower champagne that has impressed us the way that La Rogerie has.
Last year, I tasted François Petit and Justine Boxler's debut releases from François' family's domaine and the champagnes blew me away. I took everything that I could, which amounted to a couple of cases.
This year we received a little more wine, but still, it's very modest. As such, we're only sending this offer to supporters of the Champagne program.
We're excited to offer La Rogerie's Champagne Lieux de Vie Blanc de Blancs No. 2 for $104.95 per bottle.
We opened a bottle of the Lieux de Vie Blanc de Blancs No. 2 last night. It was easily one of the most exciting grower champagnes that we opened this year. It was certainly the champagne that the staff finished the fastest. The bottle was literally empty in a matter of minutes.
Simply put, the Lieux de Vie Blanc de Blancs No. 2 is shockingly good. It's the product of François Petit and Justine Boxler. Justine's family runs the famed Alsace domaine Albert Boxler. François Petit comes from a Champenois family.
The vineyards are located in the Grand Cru of Avize. François and Justine tend the vineyards, which are mostly composed of old-vine massale selection, with the utmost care. The result is Chardonnays of incredible depth, energy, and overall composition.
Their Lieux de Vie Blanc de Blancs No. 2 highlights the utterly captivating champagnes being released from the domaine. It is sourced from three different vineyards in Avize and has 2020 as the base vintage with 2019 and 2018 making up the remainder of the blend. It offers up amazing purity with nearly perfect balance and tightly coiled punch.
This is a don't miss. I write this with a fair amount of trepidation. Quantities are very limited. You should get your orders in early.
