As I wrote in an offer last year, I can't remember a new grower champagne that has impressed us the way that La Rogerie has.
These are Champagnes that people flip out over when they taste them. Our previous offer for their Lieux de Vie Blanc de Blancs No. 2 sold out in a flash.
Today, we're excited to offer La Rogerie's Le Bourg Sud Blanc de Blancs. We encourage you to get your orders in early. Quantities are limited and demand will be high.
François Petit and Justine Boxler are the forces behind La Rogerie. Justine's family runs the famed Alsace domaine Albert Boxler. François Petit comes from a Champenois family.
The vineyards are located in the Grand Cru of Avize. François and Justine tend the vineyards, which are mostly composed of old-vine massale selection, with the utmost care. The result is Chardonnays of incredible depth, energy, and overall composition.
Le Bourg Sud is sourced from a vineyard of the same name in Avize plus a small amount of fruit from a directly neighboring site in the village of Oger. It's a perpetual cuvée with the reserve dating back to 2018. The base vintage for this release is 2021.
It is a stunning Blanc de Blancs with incredible purity and finesse. The wine is simultaneously piercing and ethereal. The combination is thrilling.
I write this with a fair amount of trepidation. The quantities are that limited. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.
