When it comes to riper vintages, Lafon's Porusots often amazes. This is certainly the case with the 2019. It's finely etched and has explosive aromatics with an almost painful intensity. All of this is delivered with an incredible amount of class.
The 1er Cru Porusots is an east-facing vineyard with deep clay soils. The site produces lavish, layered, and deeply structured wines. Lafon endows this site with serious muscularity.
What sets the 2019 Porusots apart is its incredible refinement. There's beautiful verve and structure, along with a profound textural complexity. The combination makes for an absolutely thrilling bottle of white Burgundy.
Along with Roulot and Coche-Dury, Lafon is considered the gold standard for Meursault. The 2019 Porusots makes it clear why Lafon is currently one of the most exciting domaines in Burgundy.
