In recent vintages, it's become clear that Lafon is at the top of his game.
Today, I'm happy to pay homage to the incredible wines that this domaine is producing, both white and red.
When it comes to Meursault, Lafon has few peers. You'd have to look towards Coche and Roulot.
It's well known that Lafon's village bottlings transcend the category by a wide margin. I included the 2020 Clos de la Baronne and 2018 Clos de la Barre to highlight this. Both punch well above their weight class.
When it comes to riper vintages, Lafon's Porusots often amazes. This is certainly the case with the 2019. Next to Perrières, Genevrières is Lafon's top Meursault. The 2019 Genevrières boasts incredible refinement and length.
Finally, there's the Volnay 1er Cru Santenots. Lafon's Santenots is one of the great wines of Volnay. The 2020 is powerful, but for all of its texture and richness, the magic here is its transparency.
I'll let you get to the list. Please keep in mind quantities are extremely limited.
