"The 2016 Barolo Cerretta is an incredibly elegant wine" - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

Simply put, the 2016 Barolo Cerretta is a dynamite example of Conterno's greatness. Conterno's work in Barolo is without peer.

Roberto Conterno has exacting standards and focuses on perfecting every little detail. The sum is an almost logic-defying profundity. The 2016 Cerretta drives this home.

Out of Conterno's lineup, Cerretta always amazes with how it combines finesse, raw power, and thrilling intensity. For all of Cerretta’s muscle, it maintains a sense of refinement and grace.

It's this grace and lift that really stands out in the 2016. The wine has incredible clarity along with layers of fruit, earth, flower, and spice. Antonio Galloni sums it well when he comes out and says it is "all class."

As we've said before, the 2016 Barolo is a dream brew of depth, verve, and clarity. It’s one of the rare times where the wines possess the concentration of a ripe vintage along with the elegance and precision associated with cooler years.

Roberto Conterno is one of the world's greatest winemakers and the 2016 Cerretta is a glorious success. Before closing, I should warn you that quantities are very limited. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media: "The 2016 Barolo Cerretta is an incredibly elegant wine, so much so that opening a bottle now is far from a crime. That may sound heretical, but it’s a good example of how finessed young Barolo can be when it gets the kind of care it has here. It’s also important to note that while Cerretta is in Serralunga, this pocket of vineyards is more similar to those in La Morra in terms of geology, so the wines are correspondingly much more approachable in their youth. Silky tannins wrap around a core of bright red berry fruit, spice and floral notes in a pliant, mid-weight Barolo that is all class."
