Neuenberg is one of the greatest parcels in the Ayler Kupp.
The site delivers a near magical combination of expansive power paired with incredible detail and finesse.
Lauer first bottled Neuenberg separately in 2010 and it has very quickly become one of the top bottlings in the Lauer collection.
In the purist's 2021 vintage, Lauer's Neuenberg is absolutely thrilling. It possesses a presence, purity, and razor cut. This is the finesse of the Saar at its best.Â
The 2021 Neuenberg has kinetic energy with a radiant and very focused minerality. There's a bouncy elegance that is perfectly complemented by its steely core. There is such fineness to its nicely calibrated balance.Â
This is easily one of the best Neuenbergs that we've tasted. It is so clear and so complete. I'm happy to have another opportunity to offer this.

Mosel Fine Wines: "The 2021er Neuenberg N°17, as it is referred to in the central part of the label, is a barely off-dry wine (with 11 g/l of residual sugar) made from fruit picked in this prime Lieu-Dit forming the south-southwest facing, central part of the original Kupp hill (at the foot of the hill). It offers a rather backward nose made of mirabelle, herbs, and fine spices. The wine is beautifully focused and airy on the palate and leaves a stunning feel of fresh zesty herbs and earthy spices in the long finish. The overall feel is one of irresistible intensity and feather-lightness. This off-dry wine now needs to shed its primary reduction and reveal its goods, which should happen in a year or so."
