Irresistible White Burgundy Value
- 2014 Lamy Bourgogne Blanc Les Chataigners

Posted by Ian McFadden

Lamy's Bourgogne Blanc Les Chataigners has become one of my go-to white Burgundy values.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a white Burgundy at this price point that competes with Lamy's Bourgogne Chataigners.

Hubert Lamy is one of the standard-bearers for St. Aubin. His St. Aubin "Derrière Chez Edouard" and Criots-Batard-Montrachet are aggressively hunted down by serious collectors.

Across the board, Lamy's wines are grandly sculpted with eye-opening rigor. Their track-record for aging owes a lot to the density and firm, mineral backbones.

The Bourgogne Blanc Les Chataigners is marked by a steely and stony minerality.

The 2014 vintage produced simply extraordinary white Burgundies. It's one of the best young white Burgundy vintages that I've tasted.

In this vintage, Les Chataigners has a beautiful combination of presence and verve. Along with serious drive, the 2014 Chataigners has serious length and lifted, high-toned floral notes.

I anticipate a very strong response to this offer. Lamy is starting to get discovered by more and more people. The wines are too good to escape notice. When you add in the price and the vintage, it's a really compelling offer. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
