Italy 1994-2018:
Burlotto, Conterno, Giacosa, Montevertine, Roagna, & More

Posted by Ian McFadden

I'm very happy to present this list of some of Italy's best.

This time I leaned heavily towards the Piedmont with a healthy amount of Conterno, Roagna, and Burlotto, including a three-liter of 2008 Monvigliero.

You'll also find a range of Produttoi del Barbaresco's 2016s. These are some of the greatest wines that I've tasted from this storied cooperative. I should also give a call out to Serafino Rivella's 2016 Barbaresco Montestefano, which is another 2016 Piedmont wine that simply blew me away.

From Tuscany, you'll find three-liters of Il Poggione's 2013 Brunello, a wine that seamlessly marries raw power and regal elegance. There are also large formats of Montvertine's world-class Pergole Torte. Finally, the supremely elegant Chianti of Castell'in Villa should not be missed.

There's much more below. Please keep in mind that quantities are extremely limited.
