Along with the Clos St. Jacques, this is the wine that absolutely shocked Bobby and me in Burgundy this summer.
This is a powerful Clos Vougeot, masculine and dense with extract. This is a blockbuster wine, a wine whose impact is jaw-dropping.
Well over six months later and I remember this wine very well.
It will prove to be a long-haul wine, a bottle that declares, with authority, how structured and long-lived these wines will be. So, on the one hand, patience will be well served with this wine - a decade in the cellar? More?
On the other hand, we have only 30 bottles and these will disappear quickly - do not show patience in responding if you have any interest.

Burghound: "This too presently carries a gentle application of oak that frames ripe aromas of earthy blue and black fruit, spice and subtle animale hints that carry over to the powerful, mouth coating and very serious broad-shouldered flavors brimming with dry extract and plenty of muscle on the mouth coating and palate staining finish. This is a big wine in the context of the vintage and will require the better part of two decades to arrive at its majority. Patience required."
