Last Chance: Oppose 100% Wine Tariffs

Posted by Robert Schagrin

Since last October, we've been living with 25% tariffs on wines from France, Germany, and Spain.

Now, there's a chance that the tariffs will be increased to 100% and expanded to all E.U. countries.

These tariffs would cripple the industry, erode consumer choice, and make many wines prohibitively expensive.

I encourage you to click through to the US Wine Trade Alliance's site that will allow you to contact your elected officials in Congress, as well as the U.S. Trade Representative, and let them know that you oppose destructive and anti-consumer wine tariffs. The deadline to voice your opposition is Sunday, July 26th.

I WANT TO STRESS THAT YOUR INPUT IS CRUCIAL to prevent further tariffs and to repeal the tariffs that went into effect last October. The U.S. Trade Representative reviews tariffs every six months, so the time is now to be heard.

Please stand up for consumer choice and for the conditions that allow the growers, retailers, importers, and their employees to continue to bring you the wines that we all love.
