One of Germany's most famous Rieslings, a collector cornerstone and everyday drinker, returns!
Lauer's "Senior," as we've written many times before, is Grand Cru in every conceivable way, yet priced for the everyday.

This wine has become a canonical dry Riesling in the U.S. - right there with Keller's "von der Fels" and Emrich-Schönleber's "Mineral."
These are the greatest values out there in Grand Cru German Riesling.
Yet the "Senior" is sourced from 70- to 80-year-old ungrafted vines in a very cool section of the Grand Cru Kupp vineyard. The fact that this bottle can still be had for as low as $25.95 is one of the great miracles of the wine world.
Year after year, this is one of our most cherished bottles, one of our most anticipated offerings - a perennial staff favorite for close to two decades.
The 2025 hits the shelves with extra energy, extra razzle-dazzle: literally. This is a blockbuster vintage which looks back, with obvious likeness, to the fabled 2015ers.
As with the 2015ers, 2025 comes to the table with an extroverted ripeness, with great, bouncy stone fruit and citrus, a certain exuberant, explosive quality. Also, like the 2015, the magic is the matching grip, the tensile acidity. The wines are ripe, yet they don't feel like it at all. They are juicy, perfumed, yet cool-toned and refreshing.
As always, the 2025 "Senior" has that profound, singular balance. Simply no one has mastered the art of balance quite like Lauer.
It is this balance, the textural component of the mid-palate, the poise and balance, that puts the "Senior" in very close range of some of the great, great Grand Cru Rieslings of Germany.
Yet "Senior," as we've mentioned, is priced for the everyday - like today.
