The style of the Old Van Winkle Distillery bottlings is unmistakable. It's powerful, intricately layered and complex. There's nothing like it.

Compared to the older bottlings, I've always admired the 10 Year for a certain directness and honesty that mingles with a spiced, sweetly floral profile.

By the time that you arrive at Pappy 15, 20, and 23 year, you get lavishly layered complexity. On the nose, there's such a broad spectrum that you return to it again and again without ever getting to the bottom of it. Think of a complicated mix of toffee, vanilla and baking spices.

I'm going to bring this to a close. In the spirits world, there's simply no phenomenon quite like Pappy. These are some of the most impressive Bourbons out there and much more doesn't need to be said.
