Every time we taste Müller's wines, we're reminded of this. They are some of the world's great wines.
Today, we're really happy to offer a very small parcel of Egon Müller's 2007 Auslese in half-bottles.
Müller made extraordinary 2007s and this Auslese is mind-blowing. It's intense and layered yet brilliant and agile with a super-fine framework.
The 2007 Auslese boasts a ridiculous spectrum of flavors that is all harmoniously interwoven: there's an attack of slate, an explosion of citrus and floral notes.
2007 was a vintage famous for producing dense, pure and ridiculously complex Rieslings. Many believe that it will be thought of as one of the great vintages of the past twenty years.
Unsurprisingly, Müller produced some of the best 2007s. There's just another layer of nuance and captivating, energetic finesse. That's what always seems to result from Müller and his collection of old vines in Scharzhofberger. This is undoubtedly one of the great marriages of producer and site in all of winedom.
There is simply no one in Germany that has supplied me with as many amazing bottles of aged Riesling as Müller has. They are special, magical wines. And hard to find. My advice is not to let the 2007 Auslese half-bottles pass you by.
