Loire Royalty, Stunning Vintage
2014 Huet Vouvray Le Mont and Clos du Bourg Demi-Sec

Posted by Joe Salamone

When you combine Huet’s great Chenins with a vintage like 2014, you get a home run.

Huet’s Chenins are among the most legendary and long-lived wines of the Loire. Their 2014 Demi-Secs from Le Mont and Bourg are especially stunning. Both possess incredible class, depth and energy.

We loved the wines from day one, but sadly they disappeared before we could go as deep as we wanted to. We're really happy to have a second chance at the vintage. Do not miss these.

By now, it’s clear that 2014 was one of the best vintages for the Loire of the past decade. The wines achieved a gorgeous combination of balance, length and crystal-clear acidity.

Out of Huet's line-up, Le Mont is famous for its elegance and detailed minerality. The 2014 shows striking purity and focus, with stone fruits, citrus and saline notes. There's beautiful refinement and laser focus from the start to the long, deeply etched finish.

In contrast, Le Bourg is more powerful and deeply textured. The 2014 Bourg is animated by a radiant mineral clarity. The combination of saturating depth and energy is extremely compelling.

Both Le Mont and Le Bourg have legendary track records for aging, and in 2014, the wines are destined for the long haul. We've created special pack pricing because this is a vintage to go deep on.
