De Montille's En Remilly has quickly become a pillar of our Burgundy program.
Saint Aubin's 1er Cru En Remilly is a go-to for many Burgundy fanatics.
The site pulls in everyone from collectors to value seekers. Not many other places offer white Burgundies at this level for this price. After all, En Remilly sits just behind the Grand Cru, Le Montrachet.
Along with Lamy and Colin-Morey, De Montille produces one of the great examples of En Remilly.
Compared to the En Remilly from Lamy and Colin-Morey, De Montille maintains a decidedly lower profile. It's a shame because De Montille produces a great example of En Remilly. The upside is that it translates to significant value when compared to its peers.
De Montille's range is dizzying, covering top sites for white and red Burgundy. While more famous for their red Burgundies, their Corton-Charlemagne, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets, and Saint Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly are some of the great, unsung white Burgundies.
The 2022 1er Cru En Remilly is a pristine expression of white Burgundy. De Montille has a prime, mid-slope parcel in En Remilly composed of mostly 70-year-old vines. The combination of En Remilly's stony soils and their old vines endows the 2022 with a kinetic minerality and a gripping presence. All of this is delivered with an incredible balance.
This is an impressive vintage for the wine. It has a bit of everything - concentration, verse, and lots of finesse. We have to agree with Burghound when he writes that it is "lovely."

Burghound: "Here the nose flirts with exoticism in the form of citrus confit and white peach along with pretty floral elements. There is fine volume to the enveloping and caressing if decidedly punchy medium-bodied flavors that flash evident minerality on the moderately firm, bone-dry and youthfully austere finale. Lovely and this too could be successfully cellared or enjoy after only 2 to 3 years."
