Bachelet is one of my favorite producers in all of Burgundy.
For me, it's the Côte de Nuits where the greatest value is.
For this reason, it's been a go-to wine for me for many vintages. Tasting older bottles has only intensified my infatuation with the wine.
This is a serious feat. Whether it's their Aligoté to the epic Charmes-Chambertin, you can taste anywhere in the Bachelet range and be deeply impressed. The top to bottom quality here is just crazy.
The Côte de Nuits - Villages is sourced from a mere .37 ha, so this is a tough wine to have a soft spot for. There's something about its depth and soulfulness that separates it from the pack and causes me to devote a lot of time trying to secure enough wine for an offer.
I put forth an unusual amount of effort to chase down as much 2016 as possible. When I tasted the 2016 Bachelets last spring, I was blown away. The wines were dynamic and tension-filled with a thrilling wildness and presence.
You can expect the 2016 Côte de Nuits - Villages to have a rigorous structure and a gorgeous mix of soil tones, spice and lifted notes of smoke and red fruits. The gripping intensity and refinement makes clear that this is a special vintage for the wine.
I really love how Bachelet's Côte de Nuits ages. I created special 4-pack pricing because this is a bottle that you'll want to track for the next 7-10 years.

Burghound: "This is aromatically similar to the Bourgogne but with notably better complexity. The delicious, succulent and generously proportioned flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel where the fine depth flashed by the nose is also present on the finish. Lovely stuff that should offer much pleasure young but should also be capable of rewarding 5 to 7 years of cellaring too."
Special 4-Pack Price: $319.80 ($79.95/btl)
