"Lovely stuff."

Whenever I see Mugneret-Gibourg's 2017 Vosne-Romanée, I click buy immediately.

I'm a huge fan of their Vosne-Romanée, but the 2017 is a very compelling example and utterly delicious.

It's easy to fall for Mugneret-Gibourg's Vosne. Few wines combine a seductive texture with an ultra-fine and elegant precision. For me, there's no better example of a village-level Vosne, and it's one of the greatest examples of a village to be found anywhere in Burgundy.

Mugneret-Gibourg's 2017 Vosne is strikingly refined. There's a purity, finesse, and high-toned layered complexity that makes it an irresistible vintage of the wine. The total package combines agility, presence, and drive.

With close to a decade of age, the 2017 is a heartbreaking tapestry of suave, velvety dark fruits, earth, and exotic spices. It is clearly still holding plenty in reserve. The quantities are so limited that I might be getting myself into trouble saying this, but it's definitely worth it to grab a few bottles.

Burghound: "A background application of wood sets off the cool and very fresh aromas of spiced plum, dark currant and violet. The sleeker and pliant medium weight flavors possess both good detail and punch before concluding in a balanced, velvety, complex and sneaky long finish. Lovely stuff."
