The Boisson family makes Meursault exactly as we like it: intensely mineral, nervy, and with perfectly-judged richness.
The Grands Charrons is always one of the high points of the lineup.
The Grands Charrons offers up Meursault’s intense minerality and tell-tale nutty richness, but with even more complexity, depth, and refinement. Bernard Boisson, Pierre’s father, calls it exuberant and "the most Meursault-y" of their three best lieux-dits. This description is spot on.
Today, we’re happy to offer Pierre Boisson’s 2017 Meursault Grands Charrons for $139.95 per bottle.
The 2017 Grands Charrons is simply gorgeous. Boisson’s 2017s flaunt incredible length, refinement, and mineral cut, which this bottling shows off in spades. This is a profoundly overachieving villages bottling.
Pierre Boisson is good friends with Jean-François Coche's son, Raphael, and there are some parallels that are worth mentioning. Both producers turn out incredibly precise wines with an emphatic minerality and finesse.
Every time that we open one of Boisson's wines, we are amazed. Boisson's cult following and how quickly the wines disappear from the market isn't surprising at all. The 2017 Grands Charrons is one of the strongest vintages of the wine that we've tasted. Don't miss out.
