Lafon's 2022s are beautiful. They combine power and a suave joyfulness with painstaking rigor and tension.
It's well known that Lafon's village bottlings transcend the category by a wide margin, and the 2022 Clos de la Baronne dramatizes this. Clos de la Baronne is a 2.7ha monopole that includes 40-year-old vines.
The 2022 Clos de la Baronne is stunning. It combines presence and intensity with a precision and drive that's thrilling. Everything is expertly woven into a silken, high-toned profile and a punchy minerality.
The level that Lafon is currently working at is simply amazing. For me, these are some of the most exciting white Burgundies being made. I'm happy to offer the 2022 Clos de la Baronne.
