Becker's 2015ers were so deep, so powerful, yet also so crystalline and focused on release that more than a few people asked the winemaker if this was his best vintage in his 50+ year career?
Becker, never one for too many words, responded simply: "No. That is 1971."
And so, we are left today to offer two, very rare magnums of dry Riesling from what may only be Becker's second-best vintage ever.

That'll have to do? Â
These are the only magnums currently available in the U.S., and they have come directly from Becker's cold cellar in the Rheingau.
The pricing remains close to what these wines were on release. First come, first served, so don't delay.
2015 was one of those vintages for the ages; it had... and the wines continue to have, everything.
Becker's 2015ers remain young legends: They flaunt complex and ripe mouth-watering fruits, from melon to stone fruits and citrus. They are symphonic wines, with soaring high-tones and deep, bass tones.
And yet they are structured - this is a big part of the magic. The wines carry their formidable density and plushness with a determined force, with energy and lift.
Both wines could be declared "GGs" - yet Becker is more old school. He prefers to label the wines based on their ripeness. While both Rieslings are bone dry, the Spätlese Trocken is the more linear and finessed dry Riesling.
The Auslese Trocken is the monster; a rare bird with immense depth and concentration.
With a decade of age, both wines are just coming out of their youthful precociousness, more expressive and revealing, yet they have another decade and much longer ahead of them, especially in the magnum format.
These magnums are arriving in the next few weeks.Â
