The wines of Mugneret-Gibourg are some of our favorites anywhere.
Across the range, the wines are texturally beguiling, transparent, and supremely elegant.

Today, I'm happy to offer a trio of Mugneret-Gibourg wines that I recently purchased. All three are wines that I've tasted multiple times over the years and really like.Â
There are two beautiful vintages of Vosne-Romanée, 2017 and 2019. It's easy to fall for Mugneret-Gibourg's Vosne. Few wines combine a seductive texture with an ultra-fine and elegant precision. For me, there's no better example of a village-level Vosne.
The 2017 Vosne is strikingly refined. There's a purity, finesse, and high-toned, layered complexity that makes it an irresistible vintage of the wine. The total package combines agility, presence, and drive. The 2019 is a concentrated example of their Vosne, boasting more spice and polished swagger than the norm. There is a really lovely elegance to the wine. Layers of spice, floral notes, and earthy undertones mingle. We recently tasted the 2019, and it was gorgeous.Â
Mugneret-Gibourg's Chaignots may be the most elegant example of Nuits around. The 1er Cru Les Chaignots is situated on the northern side of Nuits, abutting Vosne-RomanĂ©e. The 2019 is powerful, for sure, but has incredible balance and elegance. There's plenty of Vosne spice with a healthy dose of Nuits muscle. You get dark fruits, floral notes, and a surprising amount of detail for such an intense wine.Â
I was really excited to land this parcel. I buy Mugneret-Gibourg at every opportunity, and still it's nearly impossible to keep the wines in stock. As is often the case, quantities are modest.Â
