Mugnier is a part of Burgundy's elite.
Mugnier excels at transparency, fineness, and regal elegance. Very few producers are able to render red Burgundies this fine and clear.

Out of all of the Burgundies that we work with, Mugnier is among the hardest to find in quantity.
With that said, the Nuits-St-Georges Clos des Fourches is a serious rarity. The last release of this wine was 2008.
Clos des Fourches is from the young vines in the 1er Clos de la Maréchale. It's only released in vintages that Frédéric Mugnier feels merit a separate bottling.
The Clos des Fourches is incredibly high-toned and finessed, with a luminous core. It doesn't have Maréchale's gripping intensity, but it more than makes up for it with the enormous amount of detail, elegance, and ultra-fine persistence that it offers.
Clos des Fourches overachieves in such a memorable and compelling way. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

Burghound: "A completely different aromatic profile that is notably riper yet still nicely fresh displays a variety of red berry aromas laced with earth and a hint of humus. There is both good energy and detail to the agreeably textured flavors that exude a very subtle bead of minerality on the refreshing and inviting finale. While this should be capable of repaying mid-term keeping, it should also be approachable young if you don't feel like waiting."
