Nipping at the heels of the 2002 Monfortino.
Luca Roagna has decided to release the much-anticipated 2002 Barbaresco Crichet Paje only in mixed cases. As only 1,000 bottles have been made and this wine is, by all counts, at the same qualitative level of the already-legendary 2002 Conterno Monfortino, well... we can't blame him.
The 02 Crichet Paje is, as with the Monfortino, one of the shocking triumphs of this vintage. This will be a legend.
In any event, it hardly seems like putting together a mixed case of wines all pulled directly from the cellar of Roagna is exactly a burden. Especially when essentially every bottle in the case draws strong praise.

These are great wines, indeed some of the most staunchly traditional wines being made in the Piedmont, along with the more well-known bottlings from G. Conterno, G. Mascarello, etc.
