"I would suggest that readers not ignore the wines from the Mâconnais as they are not only excellent but provide good value."
For many years, Leflaive has resided at the very highest level of white Burgundy, right there with Coche-Dury, Lafon, Roulot, and Ramonet.
While Leflaive's Grand Crus are hunted by collectors, their work in the Mâcon is relatively overlooked. This is a shame. It's here that you really get a sense of just how high the caliber of winemaking is at Leflaive.
By all accounts, Leflaive's 2019s are some of the top examples of the vintage. The prices of the top wines reflect this. The vintage produced the best Mâconnais that we've tasted from Leflaive, and the value that they deliver is jaw-dropping.
Many expressions of Mâcon tend to be a little too fat for our taste. Leflaives wines from the Mâconnais boast elegance and serious cut.
For us, the Mâcon-Verzé Les Chenes is where you find the most refinement. In 2019, this is a showstopping wine. The level of punch, finesse, and detailed minerality bears a striking resemblance to the whites of the Côte de Beaune.
This is the first time that we've offered one of Leflaive's wines from the Mâconnais. The 2019 is such a startling success that it deserved a moment in the spotlight. I should warn you that the quantities we have available are very limited and interest in 2019 Burgundy is very high. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.

Burghound: "Super-fresh aromas include those of green apple, spice and a plethora of citrus nuances. The medium weight flavors are not quite as dense but they're notably finer and with better precision on the mineral-driven, clean and agreeably dry finale that is just a bit firmer."
