"Notable Class"
2006 Costanti Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

Costanti may be unrivaled in the value it delivers for traditional Brunello.

A couple of weeks ago we offered Costanti's 2004 Brunello Riserva. The response was huge. I'm guessing that it will be the same today. The only issue is that quantities are lower.

2006 is without a doubt one of the top vintages of the past decade. Only 2004 and 2010 compete with it. The 2006s boast muscle, rigorous architectures and a sense of refinement and precision.

For years, Costanti has been one of my favorite Brunellos. The traditional style produces wines that age beautifully. They are brawny and packed with complexity, yet their true "wow" factor comes from their gracefulness and their haunting aromatic spectrum.

Simply put, Costanti represents one of the traditional greats. Give them time and they can be mindbendingly good. A 1990 that I drank last year reaffirmed that Costanti is the real deal.

Along with the 2004 Riserva, this parcel of 2006 represents one of my best Italian scores of the year. Brunello from a top producer and a great vintage at pricing like this is a rarity. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
