"Notable Class" - Brunello Magnum Steal
2006 Costanti
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Magnums

A month ago, when we offered bottles of 2004 and 2006 Costanti Riserva, I presented the parcel as my best Italian scores of the year.

Today, we focus on magnums of the 2006 Brunello Riserva. This is the last part of the parcel and a purchase that I'm equally proud of.

I'm happy to offer magnums of Costanti's 2006 Brunello Riserva for $174.95 per magnum.

Costanti has long been a favorite of ours, and his Brunellos have a track record of evolving beautifully in the cellar. A recent experience with a stunning 1990 solidified that the wines have the ability to flourish for decades, especially in magnums.

As one of the great traditionalists of the region, Costanti’s Brunellos are the real deal. The wines are muscular and simultaneously elegant. Simply put, they're really compelling.

It’s no secret that 2006 was one of the standout Brunello vintages of the decade. Along with 2004 and 2010, these wines were snapped up by the case when they were released.

The 2006 Brunello Riserva boasts the quintessential power and intensity of the vintage, backed by a strong acid spine and staggering length. There’s a dazzling range of seductive aromatics, followed by a whirlwind of dark cherry, smoke and leather. For all of the muscle and concentration on display, there’s no shortage of elegance, precision and focus.

Costanti is well known for delivering some of the best value around for traditional Brunello. Given time, the wines achieve extraordinary heights and there's no better way to witness this than from magnum. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
