"An off-the-hook effort that easily competes with the more expensive single-vineyard releases... Don’t miss this beauty!"
-Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate

Guigal has essentially defined Côte-Rôtie for much of the 20th Century. These wines work on a scale that's simply monumental; in terms of power and layered complexity, they are without peers.

The 2010 vintage at Guigal produced monuments.

Guigal's 2010 Château d'Ampuis showcases the wild success of the vintage. We have to agree with Jeb Dunnuck that the 2010 d'Ampuis nips at the heels of the La Las, which go for $550+ per bottle.

2010 is one of our favorite vintages for the Northern Rhône. The wines have a startling clarity, plenty of concentration and intense drive and length. It's pretty much a dream brew.

Without a doubt, the 2010 d'Ampuis is poised to be the greatest edition of this wine to date. The scale of the '10 d'Ampuis is jaw-dropping in terms of power, layered complexity and length. The wine has a beautiful combination of density and verve. "Off-the-hook" is not a bad way of describing it.

The 2010 d'Ampuis shows world-class breeding. It presents Syrah at its most intricate and with colossal proportions. The grape rarely achieves the sort of complexity and nobility that is on display here.

The success of the 2010 d'Ampuis is simply shocking. It is something not to be missed. The value, multi-faceted fineness and intensity are something that you encounter very rarely.
