Ode to Lulu is a nod to Lulu Peyraud, the matriarch of Domaine Tempier, who passed away in 2020 at 102.
Few producers invest so much time and care to produce their rosé. It comes from vines that are on average sixty years old, and the vineyards are carefully chosen and farmed with the intention of making the best rosé possible. All of this may sound trite, but this level of conscientiousness is rare. And it pays off in the wine.
The 2022 delivers close to everything we want from a rosé. There's vibrancy, structure, layers of complexity ranging from floral notes to gentle spices, and a fascinating stoniness.
We very much agree with Antonio Galloni that this is one of the most satisfying and intriguing rosés around. The fact that it's so fairly priced only sweetens the deal.
