Stephen Moreau's family has been making wine since the 17th century, but it was his arrival that put the domaine on the map for Burgundy lovers.

These are captivating, deeply textural and racy Chablis. Tasting them for the first time, you immediately stop and take notice.

There's been an enormous amount of buzz about the wines. For me, it became clear just how talented Moreau was when I was traveling in Chablis tasting the 2013 vintage. They were some of my favorite wines of the trip. 2013 was a complicated vintage and Moreau navigated it very well. It was hard not to be impressed.

Forêts is one of the most sought-after 1er Cru in Chablis, known for its complexity, finesse and aging potential. Moreau’s parcel is right next to Dauvissat’s, and along with Dauvissat, Moreau-Naudet's is one of my favorite examples of the site.

The 2013 Forêts offers nice weight and punch combined with an incisive mineral core. There are layers of citrus and orchard fruits, elevated by a radiant acidity and sea-breeze minerality.

For me, these are some of the most exciting wines coming out of Chablis. Luckily, the quality of the wines is still not reflected in the price tag. But it's not likely they'll stay under-the-radar for long. Don't miss.
