The wines of David Trousselle have been a gift. Since the 2019 vintage, Trousselle's wines have delivered nearly unimaginable quality for the price.

The Cuvée Olympe is a selection of his best barrels, which includes many of Trousselle's old-vine parcels. The Olympe delivers the most structure and concentration of Trousselle's wines.
In the past, we've focused on Trousselle's slightly less expensive offerings that allowed attractive taglines, like "sub-$30 red Burgundy". When we tasted the 2022 Olympe, it really captured our attention.
Trousselle was remarkably successful in 2022. The Olympe has plenty of depth along with an agile and lifted profile. There are bright red fruits with gentle earthy and spice notes. The overall impression is a nice combination of seriousness and drinkability.
Trousselle is an extremely skilled viticulturist, and he works his vines with painstaking care following organic methods. He’s also well respected in the region. In fact, he’s currently working with Pierre Boisson on a project in the Hautes Cotes de Beaune and he will be in charge of all of the farming.
Affordable Burgundy has all but disappeared, but this problem has sparked a renewed interest in Burgundy’s “lesser” regions. Quality producers are popping up in areas like the Hautes Cotes, and thanks in part to changes in the climate, the wines are better than ever. I strongly advise you to take advantage of this offer.
