Earlier this year, we offered Laherte's Ultradition and it sold out in a matter of hours.
When the dust settled it was one of Crush's most popular Champagne offerings. We just received a second and much smaller drop of the wine, which we're happy to offer today.
Ultradition is an irresistible Champagne that delivers serious value. It's an accessible Champagne, but also one of incredible balance and interest.
Laherte has emerged as one of the most talented growers in Champagne. The majority of Laherte's vines are in Coteaux Sud d’Epernay, an area between the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne. Their very conscientious biodynamic farming helps to create wines of incredible clarity with deep mineral imprints.
The Blanc de Blancs is mainly sourced from Coteaux Sud d’Epernay with a small amount of wine from Côte des Blancs. The Coteaux Sud d’Epernay has chalky soil with a thin layer of clay on top.
We count it as among the most fascinating expressions of Chardonnay from Champagne. There's such an intriguing depth of minerality and length that is complicated by a racy spine and layered notes of citrus and stone fruits.
Simply put, this is an outrageous deal on a characterful and beautifully composed Champagne. Finding something this heartfelt for the price is very rare.
