It's a vintage of nearly unheard-of structure and terroir imprint. It's a very special vintage and one that seems destined to be included with the greats of the past fifty years.

I'm very excited to offer Drouhin's 2005 Chambertin Clos de Beze for $579.95.

Even in the context of the lauded vintage, Drouhin produced jaw-dropping 2005s. As Burghound's quote above makes clear, the 2005 Beze is a masterpiece.

Clos de Beze produces some of the most epic examples of Grand Cru Burgundy. It is a powerful and soaring expression of Gevrey with beautifully complex notes of bright and dark red fruits, earth, and a subtle undercurrent of minerality.

With their light touch, Drouhin makes an intricate and brilliantly clear Beze. There's a diamond cut precision to the wine that marries beautifully to Beze's inherent muscle. The 2005 is stunning. It has a beautifully woven tapestry of fruit, earth, spice, and floral high notes.
