Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes:
2010 & 2011
750s, Magnums & Jeroboam

Pierre-Yves Colin is perhaps the most exciting young winemaker in Burgundy.

Colin-Morey's wines are very obviously some of the greatest White Burgundies that are being made anywhere, by anyone.

If it hasn't happened already, there's no doubt in my mind that people will speak about Colin-Morey's wines in the same hushed way that they speak of Coche-Dury and Jean-Marc Roulot.

Colin-Morey's wines are Chardonnay at its most intense, its most pure, its most integrated. They are crystalline expressions of citrus, flower, stone fruits and mineral with explosive complexity and rigorous detail.

This hasn't escaped notice. Colin-Morey's wines are aggressively hunted down and many of his wines disappear as soon as they're released. With that in mind, we'll keep this short.

I'm happy to offer Colin-Morey's 2011 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 750s & 2010 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes magnums and jeroboams. These are the only mags and jeros of 2010 available in the U.S.

Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes delivers wines of impressive mineral intensity and weight. Charmes can be monumental in its saturation and regal elegance.

When the richness of Charmes meets Colin-Morey's signature racy acidity, really thrilling things happen. These are wines that pulsate with energy and vivid fruit and minerals. Colin-Morey's Charmes is layered and opulent while being nimble - a feat that few wines pull off.

Colin-Morey's 2011s are stunning. They carry the vintage's clear fruits with a mineral-drenched and compelling precision. His 2010s are equally impressive. Colin-Morey's style perfectly dovetailed with the 2010 vintage - these wines have focus and cut.

I'm going to leave it at that. There's no point fanning the fire.

Colin-Morey is White Burgundy so well-crafted that they're almost without peers. As we mentioned earlier, these are extremely limited. Give us your maximum order and we'll allocate accordingly.

Colin-Morey Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes

Stephen Tanzer: "(from 40-year-old vines in between Lafon's two parcels, according to Colin): Captivating aromas of pineapple, lemon, tangerine, linden flower, exotic herbs and minerals. A step up in texture from the foregoing samples, with a lemon cream flavor framed by penetrating but harmonious acidity. Very rich, deep wine with the balance to give early pleasure but the acid cut and stony minerality to age gracefully. Showing beautifully today but there's more to come."

Burghound: "A classic Meursault nose of roasted nut butter and ripe orchard fruit aromas dissolves seamlessly into borderline painfully intense flavors that possess excellent size and weight before terminating in a tautly muscular and driving finish that is chiseled and displays a distinct saline character. This bone dry effort will need the better part of a decade to arrive at its full apogee."
