Prünent is a locale variety of the Nebbiolo grape that is thought to be the one from which the rest of the types in Piedmont originated. Cantine Garrone's Prünent Diecibrente bottling is based on a single vineyard of hundred-year-old vines. Production is just over 200 cases.
The age of the vines makes itself felt in the wine's concentration and resonant complexity. The palate is silky and amazingly nuanced with intense verve. There's a haunting perfume of flowers, spice, and game.
