Punching Above Its Weight Class:
2019 Bachelet Bourgogne Rouge

Posted by Ian McFadden

We never turn down an opportunity to buy Bachelet’s Bourgogne Rouge in quantity.

Only a select group of winemakers, such as Mugneret-Gibourg and Bachelet, produce such profound and thoroughly exciting examples of Bourgogne Rouge.

Today, I'm happy to offer Bachelet's 2019 Bourgogne Rouge for $76.95 per bottle.

I've been really excited about this offering. Bachelet's Bourgogne Rouge is a pillar of Crush and Bachelet's 2019s are impressive.

As quoted by Burghound, Denis Bachelet's says the following about his 2019s: "there are a number of aspects to admire but perhaps their strongest attribute is the perfect balance. The wines are also beautifully transparent to the underlying terroir."

The 2019 Bourgogne Rouge nicely highlights these qualities. It is loaded with Gevrey's earthy minerality. There's plenty of depth and layered complexity, but what really stands out is the wine's overall harmony. It's also just a delicious bottle.

Every year, people stock up on Bachelet's Bourgogne Rouge by the case to both drink and cellar. I'm happy to have a second opportunity to offer the wine. Since Bachelet’s estate is a mere 4ha, demand always exceeds supply. Don’t wait.

Burghound: "Here the nose is an attractive combination of ripeness and freshness on the mix of cassis, violet and earth scents. There is fine volume to the velvety and caressing middle weight flavors that possess fine depth and persistence and particularly so for its level. Bachelet always does an excellent job with this wine and he does so again in 2019."
