Mugneret-Gibourg's Vosne-Romanée is one of Burgundy's best village wines.
It's easy to fall for Mugneret-Gibourg's Vosne. Few wines combine a seductive texture with an ultra-fine and elegant precision.
For me, there's no better example of a village-level Vosne, and it's one of the greatest examples of village to be found anywhere in Burgundy.
Their 2021 Vosne-Romanée has an especially fine-tuned harmony of velvety texture with energy. It has gently enveloping spice-inflected richness with an ultra-pure thread of acidity that courses through from the start to the very detailed finish. The balance is impeccable.
With 5 to 8 years of age, it becomes a heart-breaking tapestry of suave, velvety dark fruits, earth, and exotic spices. The quantities are so limited that I might be getting myself into trouble saying this, but it's definitely worth it to grab a few bottles to track over the next decade and beyond.

William Kelley, The Advocate: "The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village is pure and crystalline, exhibiting scents of sweet raspberries, petals and spices, framed by a deft touch of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and bright, it's fine-boned and elegant, concluding with a persistent, mouthwateringly saline finish."
