Despite having holdings in Grand Crus and some of the greatest 1ers, wine lovers of all stripes flock to Pierre-Yves Colin's Saint-Aubin bottlings.
Colin-Morey is one of Burgundy's greats. It wouldn't be out of line to say that Pierre-Yves Colin's work in St. Aubin has been crucial in establishing the domaine's cult status. The En Remilly is their preeminent wine from the village.
Seasoned Burgundy buyers have long sought out En Remilly for the ridiculous quality-to-price ratio it delivers. Colin-Morey's wines from En Remilly are stunning. They serve as exemplars of Colin-Morey's incredible ability to render the Chardonnay grape with such purity and such riveting intensity.
Colin-Morey makes two bottlings from En Remilly. Nicholas et Mathis is the rarer of the two bottlings. It's situated near the Grand Cru site of Chevalier-Montrachet. Compared to Colin-Morey's basic En Remilly, Nicholas et Mathis is deeper and more textural.
The signature is verve and purity of fruit. The mingling of power, length and elegance that the 2016 offers is an ideal platform for En Remilly Nicholas et Mathis to flaunt its breeding. There's a salty and stony minerality and soaring floral and citrus notes. More importantly, you get a rigorous, finely etched quality that adds even more excitement.
I'll wrap this up. Please be warned that each time we've offered En Remilly Nicholas et Mathis it has quickly sold out. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.
