Each vintage, we're blown away by Heitz-Lochardet's wines.
In the 2018 vintage, the domaine debuted their Saint-Aubin Travers de chez Edouard. It doesn't disappoint.
The Saint-Aubin Travers de chez Edouard is sourced from a stony site. The vineyard takes Heitz-Lochardet's style to a very compelling extreme.
There's a riveting precision and intensity to the wine. Burghound captures the wine really well when he called the wine "racy and well-detailed". The mineral cut and high-toned citrus and floral notes make this a really exciting bottle. The bottle that I drank recently was delicious while boasting a very serious structure.
Saint-Aubin has long been a favorite of Burgundy lovers. The village's ability to deliver wines of finesse and mineral tension for a modest price is extraordinary. At as low as $49.95, the Travers de chez Edouard is a very serious value.

Burghound: "A fresher, cooler and markedly floral-suffused nose offers up additional notes of pear, citrus rind and soft matchstick whiffs that are trimmed in discreet wood nuances. The racy and well-detailed middle weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the agreeably dry and reasonably complex finale."
