For years, Tribut's wines have been an insider's secret, snapped up by collectors before they saw the light of day.
Just to highlight the rarity of Tribut's wines, I should mention that there are just three other listings in the U.S. For a small group of savvy collectors and sommeliers, Tribut's wines are legendary.
The story here is that Laurent Tribut married Marie-Clotilde Dauvissat, the daughter of René Dauvissat. The Dauvissats had purchased choice parcels to give their children land to become winemakers, which is the land Laurent and Marie-Clotilde farm.
Tribut was welcomed with open arms to the Dauvissat winemaking process: the two domaines share everything from pickers to printers and until very recently, Tribut made wines in Dauvissat's cellar.
It's impossible not to detect a kinship between the wines of Tribut and Dauvissat. They possess the same classically structured, deeply complex Chablis minerality, the same intense, sweeping notes of stone fruits, flowers and minerals.
The 2014 Beauroy is a really stunning example of Tribut's work. The strength of the 2014 vintage really shines. There's the concentration, depth and vibrancy that make 2014 such an exciting vintage. Stephen Tanzer smartly points out its "sharply chiseled" quality. The Beauroy delivers a beautifully precise saline minerality with stone fruits, citrus and flowers.
This is a small parcel that we're only sending to people who've supported the Chablis program. We'll likely have to allocate. Please give us your ideal order and we'll try our best.

2014 Tribut Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy
Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media: "Very closed after the recent bottling, hinting at a brothy, yeasty quality. Then sharply chiseled in the mouth, conveying a downright lacy quality to its citrus and saline mineral flavors. Delivers a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity and finishes fine-grained, sophisticated and long, with lovely lingering perfume. A thin layer of white clay in this vineyard makes this wine more expressive in its youth, notes Tribut. In fact, I find this wine surprisingly accessible today even if it will be better with time in the cellar"
