We began our first Wasenhaus offering in February 2019 with the following sentence:
Wasenhaus is at the moment perhaps the most exciting young estate in Germany.
At the time, we had no idea the extent that Wasenhaus would blow up. We now field more requests for Wasenhaus than nearly any other producer.
Sadly, the wines have become nearly impossible to find in quantity.
Today, we're very happy to offer a modest parcel of Wasenhaus' 2022 Spätburgunder.
When you taste the wines, it's easy to understand what the excitement is about. These are some of the greatest and most fascinating Pinot Noirs in Germany. They're beautifully precise with intricate structures and amazing purity.
Wasenhaus' Alex Götze and Christoph Wolber worked in Burgundy prior to founding Wasenhaus. They worked at an impressive roster of estates (Comte Armand, Bernard van Berg, Leflaive, de Montille, and Pierre Morey). They brought this Burgundian expertise back to Germany's Baden region focusing on old-vine parcels and old clonal selections.
The 2022 Spätburgunder flaunts the finesse and pristine signature that Wasenhaus is famous for. It's really impressive how much radiance and detail they can tease out.
I'm not going to drag this out. We're expecting a rapid sellout and needing to make allocations. Please give us your ideal order, and we'll try our best.
