I almost never get to offer Mugneret-Gibourg's Echézeaux.

It's a shame. The Mugneret family makes what is probably my favorite expressions of the Grand Cru.
Their Echézeaux combines rare depth with a beguiling texture. There's power, suaveness, finesse, and Intensity.
The 2022 Echézeaux has a multi-dimensional personality. There's exotic spices, tea notes, and dark red fruits all of which are delivered with beautiful clarity.
There's no getting around the fact that Echézeaux is a large vineyard and quality can vary. You'd never know it tasting Mugneret-Gibourg's. Their Echézeaux is simply an elite bottle that I'm always excited to drink.
I'll close with a warning. I feel lucky to have this modest parcel, but there isn't really much to go around.

Burghound: "A slightly cooler though still ripe nose blends notes of both red and dark berries and a wonderful array of spice elements. There is excellent verve and freshness on the palate of the sleek, refined and focused medium-bodied flavors that aren't especially dense but do flash focused power on the dusty, compact and serious finale where a touch of warmth slowly emerges. Fine if not exceptional development potential here and I particularly like the sophisticated texture."
