It's almost impossible for a Riesling lover not to become obsessed with Haart's wines. There's a brilliance, a sculpted rigor, and a precision to the wine that's breathtaking.

Haart is considered one of the rare masters of the Kabinett genre. There are few people who have focused so sharply, few who have been willing to put in the enormous amount of work necessary to make this "simple" style of wine at the level he does.
The 2023 collection is amazing, and the Goldtröpfchen Kabinett is outrageously good. There's a nicely calibrated combination of verve and depth.
Haart's 2020s are also seriously impressive. The 2020 Spätlese offers an intricate architecture and a real multifaceted depth. It's a dynamite wine.
Julian's colorful biography provides an explanation and helps to reveal some of Haart's intensity and focus. Dropping out of school to learn cooking, Julian ended up working at GästeHaus Klaus Erfort, one of the finest restaurants in Germany. Soon enough he turned to wine and entered a series of wine apprenticeships that are nothing short of unbelievable: Egon Müller, Klaus Peter Keller, Werner Schönleber, and Rheinhard Löwenstein.
