Almost as a rule, Lapierre excels in ripe vintages. The extra layer that sunny vintages endow Lapierre is what really sets the wines apart. It gives them more punch and an extra dimension of complexity, but not at the expense of levity or that granite-inflected minerality that makes drinking Lapierre so lovely.
The 2022 is another example of Lapierre succeeding in a ripe vintage. It's a concentrated vintage for the wine with a washing freshness on the backend that keeps it lively.
