This is a great wine at a ridiculous price, the lowest one around by a good margin.

The week going into July 4th is notorious for being one of the slowest of the year in wine retail. I've intentionally held this offer for today to grab people's attention. This is an amazing price on one of my favorite producers.
Beyond all this, though, the wine is stunning. Burghound is known for being pretty reserved, but when it comes to Angerville's 07 Champans, he just busts out with it and calls it "reference standard juice."
I've had bottles of Champans with over forty years of age on them that have been mind-blowing. Champans is capable of a beautiful depth of minerality and gorgeous richly silken complexity.
The 2007 Burgundy vintage continues to grow in stature. It was Volnay and the Côte de Beaune in general that produced the most impressive wines in 07.
Angerville's line-up includes some of the greatest successes of the vintage. Champans is a jewel in the crown. This is a "don't miss." It's unlikely that we'll see a Champans at this level and at this pricing again. This pricing is in Village territory. Thankfully, today, we're still in the golden days...
