"Remarkable acidity" - 2016 Lauer Neuenberg Fass 17

Posted by Joe Salamone

Neuenberg is one of the greatest parcels in the Ayler Kupp.

The site delivers a near magical combination of expansive power paired with incredible detail and finesse.

Lauer first bottled Neuenberg separately in 2010 and it has very quickly become one of the top bottlings in the Lauer collection. The 2016 is very likely the strongest Neuenberg that we've seen to date.

The 2016s have a beautiful harmony and are crystal clear in their expression. Lauer has a knack for marrying power and generous depth of fruit to an architecture that is sharply defined. The 2016 Neuenberg really flaunts this special touch that Lauer has with Riesling.

In this vintage, Neuenberg offers up an incredibly complex richness yet has an astonishing amount of refinement and poise. It amazes with its silky incisiveness. It offers a bright and polished presentation of stone fruits that is complicated by an emphatic slate-y minerality and spices.

The 2016 Neuenberg boasts the sort of riveting acidity and overall harmony that promises utter brilliance with some time in the cellar. It's a very good idea to take advantage of the special 4-pack pricing.
