For us, Enderle & Moll are making some of the greatest Pinot Noirs in Germany.
Their 2014s may be the finest they've turned out to date.
The 2014s have clarity, carrying soil imprints in ways that we haven't seen before. Enderle and Moll's calling card is a radiant elegance and wildly complex aromatics. The 2014s do not disappoint in this regard.
There's simply nothing to compare them to in all of Germany in terms of expressiveness, finesse and weightless intensity. Above all, there's a subtle depth to the wines that offers endless fascination.
Enderle & Moll really have the touch. The differences between their terroirs are rigorously displayed. A good amount of credit has to go to their work in the vineyards - they're incredibly conscientious, following biodynamic principles. Everything is hands-on. Sven Enderle and Florian Moll basically do everything themselves. The grapes go into an old basket press and then into older Burgundy barrels.
The difference between Muschelkalk and Buntsandstein is dramatic. Muschelkalk is the finest, most mineral and lifted of the line-up. Mushelkalk is a shell limestone site, and the vines are the oldest ones in the village, planted in 1953. Buntsandstein delivers more spice and power. Out of the two, Buntsandstein always seems to jump out at people in tastings.
Back in 2010, we introduced Enderle & Moll's first vintage to the U.S. Since then, the wines have improved at a really impressive pace, and so has their fan club. Our last offer sold out quickly. I'd be willing to bet that it will be the same for this offer.
