Guigal's Ex Voto makes a very strong claim to just how noble, complex and graceful Hermitage Blanc can be. This is a wine that demands to be thought of not only in terms of the best of the Northern Rhône, but also in terms of the world's elite, age-worthy wines.
The 2007 Hermitage Blanc Ex Voto delivers an outrageous concentration and layered complexity. There's irresistible suggestions of white truffles, exotic spices and a trail of finely crushed rocks that offer a beautiful back drop to the wine's clear stone fruits. I strongly encourage you to check out a bottle soon and watch its head spinning evolution in the glass, but you should also stash at least a couple of bottles away to watch it gain in depth over the next couple of decades.
2007 was a very strong vintage in the Northern Rhône and Guigal really nailed it. Across the top of their range, the wines show an absolutely majestic, multidimensional presentation married to a classy polish.
Guigal’s success here shouldn’t come as a surprise. Guigal has long been known as a veritable master of the Rhône, crafting benchmark wines with his hyper-attentive winemaking. Ex Voto is sourced from some of Hermitage's top vineyards for whites - Les Murets and l’Ermite.
