Selosse's Champagnes are game changers. They are easily some of the most original wines around.

And some of the rarest. There are few producers that we have more difficulty keeping in stock. Essentially, the deal is that we buy a parcel and it's disappeared after a couple of days.

Today, only for people who have supported the grower Champagne program, we're happy to offer a small parcel of Selosse's V.O. (Version Originale.)

What makes Selosse wines so compelling is their grand stature, the way aromatics explode from the glass and the length and depth of the palate. They are ridiculously complex wines - nuance is piled upon nuance.

V.O. marries the richness, the waves of golden pears, toffee and apple, to the incredible purity of Chardonnay with its salty and smoky minerality.

V.O. is a blend from the Grand Crus of Avize, Cramant and Oger. Compared to Selosse's Initial, V.O. sees a higher portion of the Avize fruit and it's sourced from choicer, steeper slopes whereas Initial is sourced from a lower part on the slope. V.O. also sees more time on the lees and sees a smaller and, at times, no dosage. The extra brut format provides the perfect stage for Selosse's exemplary grape growing and winemaking.

Selosse's V.O. is wine to meditate over, and as it ages, it becomes even deeper and more multifaceted. They are singular wines and like many things with this level of individuality, there's just not much to go around.
