2014 Seehof Weissburgunder Morstein R
The Morstein vineyard is unmistakable.
Its ability to render wines with staggering depth and crystalline minerality is nothing short of mind-blowing.
Of course, Klaus Peter Keller put the vineyard on the map. He issues one of the greatest dry Rieslings in Germany from the site.

When Florian Fauth of Weingut Seehof purchased his tiny plot of old-vine Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) in the Morstein, it’s likely he was looking toward the example set by Keller. Keller is Fauth’s brother-in-law and the connections likely run a bit deeper. Certainly the clarity and elegance of the wine leads us to think the two must talk more than a little…
Taste Seehof’s Weissburgunder and the similarities become strikingly apparent. The wine is imbued with a level of clarity, precision, and pristine minerality that’s rarely witnessed in Pinot Blanc.
The "R" is made from less than half a hectare of the oldest vines in this epic site, lending a polished minerality and layers upon layers of complexity. This is truly thrilling Weissburgunder. It’s a mind-bending expression, pulsating with riveting energy and sleek elegance.
Weissburgunder is often overlooked, but the best expressions offer kaleidoscopic aromatics and clarity. Seehof’s Morstein R is among the finest and most memorable that we’ve encountered.
The 2014 Weissburgunder Morstein R is an impressive feat of steely finesse, purity and pinpoint precision. The 2014 offers crystal clear layers of citrus, pear and floral notes.
Seehof’s Weissburgunder is a clear overachiever, boasting a structure and depth that suggest another decade of life ahead. Our 2012 offering sold out quickly and it's a safe bet the 2014 will do the same. Quantities are extremely limited. Please give us your ideal order and we’ll do our best.
