These are some of the great wines of the world and their track record for aging is second to none. Scharzhofberg is one of the great sites of Germany and undoubtedly, Müller and Scharzhofberg is one of the great marriages of producer and site in all of wine. The site produces wines with relatively low oechsle (ripeness) levels. Most often, the top sites are those that produce the ripest grapes. But Scharzhofberg works on an entirely different logic.
Scharzhofbergers from Müller in any vintage thrive on steely finesse that's full of cut and a cool, mineral-drenched length that boasts the wine's nobility. They are simply some of the most riveting wines on the planet. In recent vintages, the Kabinetts have become our favorite format.
What we love about Müller's Kabinett is how it combines intensity and walk on tip-toe weightlessness. Catch a Müller Kabinett at the right time and you'll be treated to something truly awesome.
The 2014 delivers all the excitement that we've come to expect from Müller's Kabinett. There's plenty of substance with a beautiful lifted and dynamic interplay of fruit, mineral and sweet herbs.
